Got Biscuits?

Today was Lawnmower Man's Birthday. We took him to eat at one of his favorite places...

I walked up to the counter to give them our name and Carol Fay the Biscuit Lady was the name taker. I don't like to bug famous people so I gave her my name and I sat down. And yes, she is famous. If you make really great southern food on TV that makes you famous in my book. Lawnmower Man did not sit down. He went right up to the counter and started talking to the Biscuit Lady and this was their conversation...

Lawnmower Man: Who puts pepper on a biscuit???? (really loud)
Biscuit Lady: I was robbed! Can you believe that.
Lawnmower Man: Can I get my picture taken with you? It's my birthday! (really loud)
Biscuit Lady: Sure! Here ya have it...

Could the man look any happier? I guess I need to start making biscuits.
If you don't know about the pepper biscuit incident you can watch it on the Food Network's Throwdown with Bobby Flay. (Feb 21 @ 6:30 central time) Please know that the Biscuit Lady is very bitter about this and I really don't think that Lawnmower Man should have brought it up.

Enough about him and the birthday. This is what I had to eat...

Fried chicken, creamed corn and green beans. Yes, I ordered two vegetables. I don't know what came over me. I should have ordered the mac & cheese. Are you hungry yet? The people at the next table were northerners and we snickered when the man asked the waitress, "What's fried okra?" (That used to be us.)

We came home so that Lawnmower Man could open his presents and have his cake. This is the cake that he picked out...

I was a little shocked by his chocolate choice. He usually picks a pie with fruit.(Yuck!) I guess the strawberries won him over. Or he knows how much his wife really loves chocolate cake.

Me and Lil'Nanny snuck into the gift shop and got him this t-shirt. We wanted him to always remember the day he met the Biscuit Lady.

I SAW THAT EPISODE!!!!!!!! That is awsome! I didn't know Lawnmower Man and I shared such a close birthday! I am getting a little concerned that most of your posts are about food. I'm just sayin. Maybe you are missing your calling as a food critic. :)
